Indications of my music genre.
Beyonce is a very big influence to many girls in the world and is often known as 'Queen of Pop'. Her beauty and style is one of those reasons.
Also Rihanna and Jessie J are major influences to many people in the world, which gave me the idea to create a girl based music magazine as people would be very interested if they saw one of their idols in a magazine.
They are all very different but all appeal to the same audience. For these reasons is why I wanted to base my magazine on just girl pop as not many magazines just talk about how the female celebrities are in the world, it usually various. Also with just a girlie magazine it gives more options for me to talk about more things, fashion etc.
Font Planning/Steps for Music Magazine
As my music magazine is all about girl pop, I wanted quite a feminime name for my magazine. I also wanted to include the word girl to make it a lot clearer also. I was quite keen on the idea of creating an unual name for a magazine. I then wrote down a few words such as Love, Graceful, Amazing etc but I then put them in into a translator to see what they would look like if I changed to language style. I tried Love in french which I thought looked attractive for a girlie magazine.
I then typed in graceful to the translator. I did this as I wasnt so sure on the Amour title as I would be adding girl to the end of it 'Amour Girl' did quite sound catchy enough to me but I did like the sound of 'Graceful Girl' which then was translated to 'Graciuex Girl'...
When I had decided that I liked 'Graciuex Girl' I chose the best type of font I liked the words in. My decision was the top option.
I liked this as it is big and bold and stands out to the audience if it was to be placed on shelf in a store.

Examples of Photography for my Music Magazine
- I liked the idea of using this photo for a double page spread as I thought of the idea of creating the text to go around the figure. I thought that it would look good if the image was placed to one side of the page and the writing gradually got nearer to the image. When taking the image, as it is a close up shot, I made sure that the backgroud would be simple and easy to take out once put into photoshop. I just used a plain sheet which would make it much easier than a complicated/patterend background.
- This is the image I decided to use for the contents page. The way my cousin is positined in the photo is good as it is portrait and on a contents page the numbers/information all flows down once side of the page. This image fit perfectly allowing me the room for the information to go down the left hand side of the single page. I also used a plain background to make it quicker and easier when coming to desing the page. Also, this image gave me the idea to make the contents colour theme green as it fits with the small amount of colour you can see on the shorts worn.
- In some images I used props to make the photo's more realistic. I never actually used this in production as the background kept messing the image itself up when I tried to edit it. I then resorted to using more of a simple image.
Music Magazine - Fonts (image to come)
At this stage, I was still deciding on a name for my music magazine. I had a few different names I liked so I decided to see what they would all look like in various fonts, I also looked for which one stood out the most.
